$767,000 Mega Beat Progressive Poker Jackpot Hit at Caesars Entertainment

The night before Thanksgiving, Wednesday, November 27th, the Flamingo Las Vegas poker room was the scene of a massive festival of excitement. The excitement wasn't about Thanksgiving and turkeys and pumpkin pie though, it was Caesars Entertainment’s record-breaking "Mega Beat Progressive Poker Jackpot" that went off for a mind-blowing $766,951.

"Gary" from Costa Mesa, California, had the {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} in the pocket and went to war with "Linda" from Georgetown, Indiana, who held the {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts} at one of the Texas hold'em tables in the Las Vegas Poker Room.

All the excitement and frosting on the pumpkin pie hit when the board ran out with the {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades} and the action was hopping all the way through the hand. Gary turned a royal flush and while Linda may have had an idea she was beat at the time, she had no idea how BEAT her quad jacks were going to be on the river. Everyone should suffer beats like this one.

When the smoke cleared and the last chip hit the pot, the applause in the poker room was over the top. But the excitement didn't stop there, Las Vegas poker players that were playing in participating Caesars Entertainment poker rooms got their share of frosting on the pumpkin pie too! All players who were active at tables in any of the rooms, got a share of the jackpot.

When it was all sorted out there were 198 players in poker rooms at Harrah’s Las Vegas, Bally’s Las Vegas, Quad Resort & Casino, Flamingo Las Vegas, Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, Caesars Palace, and Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino shared the$766,951 jackpot.

Linda had the losing hand but ended up with the winning share — $156,189 — of the jackpot. Gary not only won the pot with the royal flush but also claimed the $79,406 for having the winning hand. All other players that were active when the jackpot hit, earned $2,711.

From the company earlier this year:
