New Jersey's online gambling market has just been hit by a tidal wave of new users over the weekend. Bloomberg reported on Monday that over 14,000 new online gambling accounts were created. Since the soft launch of November 21st, the total of registered account holders comes to 51,352.
The actual number of those accounts that have placed online real-money bets is unavailable due to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE) keeping the numbers under wraps at this time — some online gamblers have opened accounts at more than one online gambling site which means the number of accounts created doesn't show unique players.
The first revenue report from online gaming in New Jersey is expected to be released by the NJDGE in January.
The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, Bally’s Atlantic City, Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort, Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino, Tropicana Casino and Resort, and Caesars Atlantic City are completely operational. The Golden Nugget Atlantic City has been testing since last week but a full online launch could come at any time.
