The Ivey League poker training site is expected to launch later this month by, none other than the master of poker himself, Phil Ivey. Ivey teamed up with televised sporting events to build awareness for Ivey Poker and the first was a boxing event on Friday, January 17th, 2014.
The event IveyPoker.com sponsored was the boxing program ShoBox, The Next Generation. The program ran on Showtime at 10 p.m. EST, at Cook Convention Center in Memphis, TN. Many up-and-coming prospects in the boxing world were featured on the marque.
The IveyPoker brand was present during the event.
"Phil is a big fan of boxing, but more importantly he is a fan of hard work, commitment, and dedication. That’s exactly what is needed when you step in the ring," said Clete McQuinn, Chief Operating Officer of Ivey Poker.
Ivey's website launched last year with the intention of the Ivey League teaching people how to play poker the "right way." The poker community will be able to learn from Ivey, his team of pros, and instructors through downloadable video instruction. Those interested in picking up tips and playing can also join the social poker game on Facebook.
Ivey League instructors rank high in the list of top poker talents and include Patrik Antonius, Jen Harman, Greg Merson, Dan Shak, and James Dempsey.
