After reading/listening to all of the skewed information that's been tossed about in the media concerning the inability to safely regulate online gambling by the likes of Sheldon Adelson and others that try to 'nanny' those of us that want to play online poker, we're going to jump right into the first topic of today's Inside Shuffle. We're hoping this little bit of frostbite will start to slow down the noises the anti-gambling group are making and they'll come to their senses when they realize technology is the kicker to a royal flush and they can't beat it!

New Jersey Alleged Online Gaming Fraud

Diana Zolla claimed her identity had been stolen when she filed a report that indicated the $10,000 in online gambling debts were not racked up by her but by the identity thieves. Zolla is a New Jersey resident and her report sent the police on the digital scent of what may have occurred.

The New Jersey state police put together a net from information gathered from Zolla's Internet Service Provider, bank transactions and online gaming website and location records. And BINGO! It was determined that Zolla herself was getting a new pair of bracelets.

Take that, you anti-online gambling fanatics that are trying to put the 'nanny' back in the state (of online poker).

Borgata Sued by Six Victims of Winter Open Chip Scandal

The 2014 Borgata Winter Poker Open took a bad beat when Christian Lusardi picked that room to test his chip dumping skills...he wasn't the live one, he was dumping counterfeit chips into the pots! And then, realizing he had too many of them or the jig was up, he flushed them down the toilet at Harrah's Resort Casino where he was staying.

The long of it isn't over yet, the short of it is that Lusardi went to jail and the tournament was stopped until law enforcement and the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement could cipher through the pieces and make a decision. The decision was reached — read about it here — but it wasn't one that left the 27 remaining players, at least six of them, with a warm cuddly feeling and they filed a lawsuit against the Borgata.

The six players are: Duane Haughton, Michael Sneideman, Cuong Tran, Alvin Vatanavan, Christopher Korres, and Cuong Phung.

"The complaint alleges four counts against the Borgata — Negligence, Breach of Contract, Breach of Implied Contract, and Negligence Per Se — and seeks damages of $33,756.44 for each of the plaintiffs."
