It's a given that when the World Series of Poker kicks off, the rest of the poker world goes semi-comatose in response to the all-encompassing-action and opportunity offered at the world's biggest poker festival. If chips could talk, think of the wonderful stories that would hit the mainstream of the media — along with some we might not want to hear — but consider how many times they've been caressed, stacked, hoarded, sent out into the war zone to bring back all prisoners, dropped, lost, found, shuffled, even counterfeited, purchased, cashed in, and put in lock boxes. Obviously they can never give up their secrets so let's get to The Inside Shuffle.

Event #65: $10,000 Main Event

The World Series of Poker is winding down as the remaining 746 players move into Day 4. Only one previous Main Event champion is still in the field, Huck Seed. Ryan Riess, Johnny Chan, Chris Moneymaker, and Robert Varkonyi are all out of contention.

Today is money day. Day 4 chip leader Andrew Liporace will be the one to beat and there are plenty of pros left in the field that will be trying to do just that.

Memorable WSOP Meltdowns on Video

Jason Kirk over at has compiled a 'few memorable WSOP meltdowns' with categories for each. If you love to watch poker hands and some of the pro players, this is the place to catch up with some of poker's most memorable moments past.

The one video of the group that will plague previous main event winner Scotty Nguyen for eternity is the one when he won the $50,000 HORSE tournament. It's an embarrassment to the poker world and to the Prince of Poker himself as witnessed in the following:

NV Plans to Link Online Poker Websites

Nevada state gaming regulators are preparing a planned interactive gaming system after giving the tentative approval needed to begin to house online poker websites for multiple casinos.

The technology would allow multiple casinos to join the network and gives the potential to create more online poker tables. Gibraltar-based 888 Holdings would develop the inter-operator poker network.
