Crown Melbourne released the schedule for the 2015 Aussie Millions Poker Championship on Friday, August 1st, 2014. The series is one of the most highly anticipated poker festivals of the year and the 2015 edition is set to kick off on Wednesday, January 14th, and run through Monday, February 2nd, with 21 events on the menu.

The spotlight is on the Aussie Millions Main Event that kicks the action into high gear from Sunday, January 25th, through Sunday, February 1st — the lucky winner can look forward to an estimated AU$1.6 million first-place prize.

The big buy-in "Challenge" events are set to attract the top pros in the poker world and they are as follows: $25,000 Challenge, $100,000 Challenge, and LK Boutique $250,000 Challenge.

"Crown Melbourne's Aussie Millions Poker Championship has effectively become one of the top poker majors and a favorite amongst some of the most renowned players in the world," said Crown Melbourne's Director of Poker Jim Preston. "And the stage has never been brighter."

The Aussie Millions Main Event partnered with the Asia-Pacific Poker Tour in 2014 and players can expect a repeat performance in 2015. In order to maximize attendance for tournament poker players, the Aussie Millions schedule will start a bit later in January to allow players to play both the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure and the Aussie Millions. January 6th-14th is the scheduled run-time of the PCA in 2015 which means players can fit both poker series into their travel/play plans.

The 2014 Aussie Millions was a huge success and 2015 is expected to be even bigger and better. Ami Barer outlasted the field of 668 players to take home the title of the Main Event and scoop AU$1.6 million after besting the likes of
Sorel Mizzi, Jacob Balsiger, Darren Rabinowitz, Vincent Rubianes, and Scott Seiver at a stacked final table.

The "Challenge" tournaments also proved that tournament poker players are ready for action by the huges number of players that entered the competitions. The $25,000 Challenge received 65 entries and was won by Max Altergott; Yevgeniy Timoshenko won the $100,000 Challenge that drew 76 entries; and Phil Ivey stood at the top of 46 entries to take home the LK Boutique $250,000 Challenge.
