Dan Bilzerian has managed to find an escape hatch to keep from spending up to 6 years in prison and paying a fine of $5,000. Known as The Instagram King to most of the world, Bilzerian will record a PSA to help the Bureau of Land Management tell people what they AREN'T SUPPOSED TO DO on public lands.
Back in December Bilzerian found himself in lockup in Los Angeles after he flew in from the Bahamas in his private jet. Supposedly he was held without bail but was immediately released along with Jeremy Guymon who was facing the same charges as Bilzerian. In January Bilzerian's lawyer was looking for a plea deal.
The charges against the two men were two counts of possessing bomb-making materials but Bilzerian gave the police much more ammunition in the case when he posted on his Instagram page "Today I bought a semi truck to shoot with this 20mm cannon"
Bilzerian has made more than one attempt to step into a movie career; this PSA could be the start of something big...or not. But one thing's for sure, instead of prison, he is putting his energy into the PSA and the lawyers handling the case for both him and Guymon — David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld — paid a combined $20,000 in restitution for the small wildfire that was sparked because of the November 4th explosion on public lands.
It's believed that the reason Bilzerian was able to avoid prosecution for the bomb/truck explosion was due to his huge following on Instagram and his agreement to film the PSA.
We can't wait to see it!
