Congressional Hearing on RAWA Online Poker Ban Set for Thursday! Call to Action!

If you live in the United States — and love to play online poker — you need to read this!

The House Judiciary subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security and Investigations is opening the floor to a hearing on H.R. 707. H.R. 707 is Sheldon Adelson's-backed Restoration of America’s Wire Act (RAWA). If the bill is signed into law, states will no longer have the choice of authorizing online poker within their boundaries. Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT), 3rd District, introduced the bill. Adelson's camp, following Adelson's desire to ban all online gambling in the United States, is busy trying to destroy the foundation of freedom in the United States by controlling what United States citizens can do in the privacy of their homes.

New Jersey, Nevada, and Delaware have already legalized online gambling and poker but if RAWA becomes a law, all the hard work that went into developing that freedom will force those states to stop their current iGaming operations.

"The opponents of your freedom to play online, led by casino magnate billionaire Sheldon Adelson, have stacked the deck for this hearing," from the Poker Players Alliance (PPA). "They have loaded the witness panel with anti-poker zealots who have no real-world knowledge of how Internet poker works."

The PPA took a stand long ago to unite poker players and protect their right to play and now the organization is asking everyone to stand up for their rights. It only takes a few minutes to contact the members of the subcommittee and express opposition to H.R. 707. To do this, simply head here to send a pre-filled Tweet. If you prefer the personal touch of talking to a live person, call their offices individually and let them know that the bill will turn its back on the rights of states and worse than that, it will put politicians in charge of the Internet. How do you feel about governmental control over your freedoms? If you love poker and want to play online poker, now, or at a future date, DO NOT ignore this message.

The following is a list of the members of the House Judiciary subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security and Investigations, which consist of Chaffetz and four other RAWA cosponsors:

If you don't take a stand on this issue, what will you be fighting for next? Stand up to Sheldon Adelson's attempt to control online gambling through RAWA and be aware that he is willing to invite you into his land-based casinos to fill his pockets with more cash that will fuel his ability to control your actions but not give you the freedom to make your own choice.
