The World Series of Poker announced the 2015 WSOP Europe poker extravaganza that will light up Spielbank Berlin in Berlin, Germany, from October 8th-24th. By the time this major poker event culminates, there will be 10 gold bracelet winners sporting poker's most prized symbol of their ability to withstand the fields and take home the championship.
"Germany is truly a hotbed for poker talent," said WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart. "As home country to our reigning Player of the Year and 2011 World Champion, we look forward to discovering new names ready to perform on poker's biggest stage. Berlin became a logical choice city for WSOP Europe given its proximity to all of Europe, the experienced management team at Spielbank, and the gap of time since a major poker tournament has come to the city. We believe this truly will be the best organized and contested WSOP Europe ever."
George Danzer is the reigning WSOP Player of the Year and Pius Heinz is the winner of the 2011 WSOP Main Event that Stewart is referring to.
The event that will start the massive action and excitement of the eighth installment of WSOP Europe is the €2,200 Six-Handed No-Limit Hold'em event. This event puts cards in the air on Thursday, October 8th at 02:00 PM local time. The 2015 WSOP Europe Main Event is scheduled as a five-day event with a €10,450 buy-in and the hunt begins for the 2015 champion on Sunday, October 18th at 12:00 PM local time. The final table is scheduled to begin on Saturday, October 24th at 12:00 PM — a day of rest has been set to allow the final of the €25,600 High Roller.
