Female Ground Breaker - Vanessa Selbst and Steve Harvey

What has one of the world's top female professional poker players been up to recently — not only one of the top female poker players, but one of the most successful poker players in the world today? Vanessa Selbst, one of the winningest and classiest acts in poker made an appearance on the Steve Harvey Show "Female Ground Breakers" on Monday, May 11th.

A friendly little game of No Limit Texas Hold'em, played for play money chips, gave viewers at home the privilege of watching three-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner and Steve Harvey face off over the green felt.

Selbst was there to give some tips on how to play the game and as she shuffled the deck, she told Harvey, "I'm the one dealing, so that means I have position. Do you know what that is?"

Harvey was game and ready to keep the mood light, "Well, not in cards."

"I'm trying to have a poker face here, you're making it really hard," Selbst chuckled as she replied.

The first hand Selbst dealt saw a flop of {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades} after she had raised to 300 pre-flop and Harvey called.

Harvey was first and set out a 500 bet. As Selbst was getting ready to make the call, she explained the power of position. The {J-Clubs} popped off on the turn and Harvey moved all-in using both hands to shove his chips in (perhaps he's been a fan of the World Poker Tour and is very aware of the 'all-in' move because he looked as if he had experience in that area).

A few jokes rolled out from Harvey as Selbst looked surprised at the all-in move...but like the true pro she is, she explained the situation and folded her hand.

Harvey wanted to show his hand and did, exposing the {j-Spades}{5-Hearts} for two pair — jacks and sixes.

Harvey and Selbst played for approximately eight minutes and Selbst lost another hand but Harvey had the good sense to know that he was the underdog in a poker game with her. He had this to say:

"Let me tell you something, as a female ground breaker... when you get to No. 1 in the poker ratings, out of 300 poker players, listen to me, you have got to know what you are doing," Harvey told the audience. "I don't care how long you keep that ranking at No. 1, the majority of poker players have never been No. 1, nor will they ever be No. 1. So I think ladies, you're looking at one of the true champs right here."

The audience applauded Selbst.

At the end of the video Harvey invited everyone to head over to Selbst had a clip there that provided more poker tips behind the scenes:
