Super High Roller tournaments are becoming the norm when a poker festival of any size kicks off in the brick and mortar casinos of the world. Although the number of online high roller tournaments hasn't been on the same growth level, it appears that is all about to change. PokerStars is ready to start the next big move in online poker with a $50,000 Super High Roller that will take place during the next World Championship Of Online Poker (WCOOP).

The $5,200 buy-in WCOOP Main Event event kicks off on the 27th of September but before the online poker players of the world head for it, they have the chance to play the $50,000 + $1,000 Super High Roller the week before on September 20th. PokerStars believes this event will bring at least 40 players to the tables and has put a $1 million dollar guarantee on the tournament.

Two PokerStars Team ProsDaniel Negreanu and Jason Mercier are confirmed for this super high roller tournament.

"I think it only makes sense that the world's largest poker site is also the host of the largest buy-in online poker tournament ever," Negreanu said.

Negreanu went on to add, "Over the last few years we have seen the emergence of Super High Roller events at live events across the globe," Negreanu said. "I think it only makes sense that the world's largest poker site is also the host of the largest buy-in online poker tournament ever. I'm excited to test my skills against the best of the best online."

Mercier is ready for the Super High Roller also and possibly more ready than most after winning his third World Series of Poker bracelet this summer.

"I'm really excited about playing in the biggest buy-in online tournament ever. It'll be an awesome challenge to go up against such tough competition for the biggest stakes! I can't wait."

Other players that like to mix it up in big buy-in events like Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Vanessa Selbst, Barry Greenstein, Eugene Katchalov, Theo Jorgensen, Johnny Lodden, and Team Online Isaac Haxton may be playing this first-ever event also.

As of now the WCOOP only has the $5,200 buy-in $10 million guaranteed Main Event, starting at 07:30 PM on Sunday, September 27th and the Super High Roller set in the schedule.

The 2015 WCOOP Main Event has satellites running now for as low as a single Frequent Player Point (FPP) or $1.65. Head for PokerStars lobby and and win your seat today.
