Negreanu Takes Neymar Jr.’s Spot in PokerStars’ The Dream Team Collection

PokerStars promotion, The Dream Team Collection, has three soccer star ambassadors representing the world's largest online poker site. Those players are: Neymar Jr., Christiano Ronaldo and Ronaldo Nazário de Lima. But a problem popped up due to advertising restrictions in the United Kingdom. Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu will be substituted for Neymar Jr.

Gaming companies in the UK must follow advertising rules and Neymar Jr., aged 23, isn't old enough to be featured in gaming-related advertising. The United Kingdom Gambling Commission (UKGC) website states: "No one who is, or seems to be, under 25 years old may be featured gambling or playing a significant role."

The Dream Team Collection is going to give players the chance to complete challenges — playing a certain number of Spin & Gos or winning poker hands with pocket jacks — to earn a random prize and a puzzle piece. According to PokerStars this is their largest ever marketing campaign and will culminate in all-in shootout where one lucky player will instantly win $1 million!

PokerStars brought in Negreanu to continue the Dream Team Collection promotion since it will be two years before Neymar Jr. can be promoted in the UK. Affiliates of PokerStars have been informed that any UK-facing advertising cannot feature Neymar Jr.

Negreanu is possibly the worlds most recognized and admired poker player and his presence, along with the two remaining soccer superstars, Ronaldo and Nazario, is expected to carry The Dream Team Collection campaign to success in the UK.
