The United States players were experiencing a bit of an “off” Sunday because of Daylight Savings Time, and though there seemed to be fewer players in some of the events on the Sunday major’s schedule, some actually saw an increase in registration. The changing of the clocks seemed to have little to do with it.Only one tournament was missing from the schedule, and that was the $200K Double Deuce on Full Tilt, which was removed due to the ongoing similarly-priced MiniFTOPS.

It was the first Sunday in March, and while still in the height of live poker tournament season, a solid number of players found their ways to the online poker tables for the Sunday majors. There were noticeable increases in the number of players at the PokerStars tables, in addition to the big events on UltimateBet and Bodog, and though Full Tilt didn’t experience the same rise in numbers, no notable decreases were in order either.

The last Sunday of February brought some solid numbers to the tables. After last week’s record-breaking turnout, namely on PokerStars because of the $4 million guarantee in the Sunday Million, it seems that some of those players stuck around for another week. The guarantees were all back to normal, but the registration numbers were better than normal.With FTOPS having wrapped, all of the Full Tilt Sunday majors were back on the schedule, though most of them found decreased registrations.

In only 12 days and what felt like a blink of an eye, the 15th installment of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) is complete. And amazing numbers were recorded. In 27 tournaments, the cumulative prize pool for FTOPS XV came to $18,609,100, which was awarded to thousands of players in addition to the 27 winners. That is an impressive dollar figure.With those 27 coveted online poker titles forever on players’ records as FTOPS victories, each winner also received a limited-edition FTOPS jacket, gold FTOPS jersey, and gold jersey avatar for future use on Full Tilt Poker.

All of the major online poker websites have their major Sunday tournaments, but sometimes one has events so major that they simply outshine the other sites. While Full Tilt took a prominent spot on the calendar on February 21 with the last events of the FTOPS series, including the $2.5 million guarantee Main Event, it was PokerStars who came through with the monster of them all. It was the site’s celebration of its 40 billionth hand and the festivities that caught the attention of poker players the world over.

With a combined total of more than $17 million in guarantees up for grabs, the online poker community braced for the 15th installment of the popular tournament series.
