Continued from Part I PokerWorks: At that point, you made a conscious decision to dedicate more time and effort to poker. Is that correct?Dusty: I was a little lost, actually, at the end of the summer. I always intended to get back into golf and give it a second shot after having it taken away from me with the heart attack and without having the funding to do it right. I grinded real hard in poker in January, February, and March to try to make a bunch of money and get ahead of the game, and the focus led to playing really well and winning some amateur tournaments.

Like so many in poker, Dusty Schmidt came upon poker as an outlet for his competitive spirit. At a point in time that his physical abilities were limited, he found that online poker provided a mental challenge that, if done correctly, could also be a financial supplement. He’s only 23 but he’s already made over $800,000 in online tournaments. After a recent win in the Full Tilt Poker weekly 1k, Darryll Fish is showing he is an up-and-coming online force to be reckoned with. KL: How did you get started playing poker?Darryll: Well, when I was like 16 I started playing Magic: The Gathering, and was pretty much hooked from the start. He just recently came off of a final table at the $25,000 World Poker Tour Championship, finishing 4th. Christian Harder is a well respected online pro making a successful leap into the live poker foray. Known online as charder30, he has racked up some major accomplishments online and live. In mid 2007 Christian won the Full Tilt Monday $1k for over $80,000 and then went on to win the UltimateBet $75,000 guarantee and has won the PokerStars $100 rebuy multiple times.

His tournament cashes exceed four million dollars and he has achieved this in just a few short years.KL: How important do you think respect is in poker? After signing with PokerStars a couple months ago as their newest Team Pro, JC Alvarado already has a major online title under his belt. On April 13th JC took down the midstakes [$1050 buy-in] SCOOP Main Event, besting a field of 3198 players and cashing for $502,086. KL: How many of the SCOOPs had you been playing?
