Billy Argyros

Billy Argyros, known as ‘Billy the Croc’ or ‘The Croc,’ is a professional poker player living in Australia that has been around the circuit for a number of years. He has a keen sense of humor and has appeared on Tony G’s video Poker blog, the television show ‘Australian Celebrity Poker Challenge’ where he held the position of resident expert—players could call him for advice once during the game, and he has placed in many poker tournaments, including 15th in the 1995 WSOP Main Event. Recently he took down the $1,000 Australian Two Card Manilla Championship to add to his list. As of 2008, The Croc’s total live tournament winnings exceed $860,000.

Argyros was invited into the Australian Poker Hall of Fame in January 2009 and has also been an MC and consultant to Foxtel and other media outlets.

Argyros has also been a very active participant on ChipMeUp playing under ‘crocky.’ It’s easy to take a piece of his playing action by simply signing up at the site and looking for him.

Argyros was born in Melbourne, Australia—a second generation Greek—he is married, and is the father of two girls. He has played poker for over 20 years and competed against some of the greatest legends of the game, like Johnny Moss, Bill Smith, Stu Ungar, Jack Keller, Puggy Pearson, and Seymour Leibowitz; which brings a point—all of those mentioned are now deceased. Argyros is known for his great sense of humor and fun at the table, perhaps he sent them out with a smile on their face.

You’ll find him at Full Tilt Poker when you’re ready for the ‘The Croc’ experience.
