Biography

Jeffrey Lisandro was born in Perth, Australia and now calls Salerno, Italy his home. He’s respected as one of the best cash game players around, but has also made plenty of marks along the tournament circuit. Lisandro learned to play poker from his mother when he was just five years old.

Lisandro recorded his first cashes outside of the United States. In 1995 and 1996, Jeff cashes numerous times in London, Vienna, Amsterdam, and Nova Gorica before putting up his first results in the States. He scored three final tables in smaller events in 1996 on U.S. soil and in 1997 cashed in the WSOP twice.

He continued to grind out cash games during the years and dabble in tournaments on the side. A few years down the road in 2003, Lisandro nailed his first six-figure score when he won the $1,500 Pot-Limit Hold’em event at the Five-Diamond World Poker Classic in Las Vegas. He earned over $122,000 for his victory there.

At the 2004 WSOP, Jeffrey cashed five times, including two third-place finishes. Still, that WSOP gold bracelet eluded him.

At the end of 2004, Lisandro won a heads-up event for nearly $200,000 and then in May of the following year, took down the Harrah’s WSOP Circuit event in Lake Tahoe for a nice half-million-dollar score. Four more WSOP cashes followed that year as well, but still no bracelet.

Another year later, four more WSOP cashes rolled in. One of those was a deep run in the Main Event where Jeff finished seventeenth for nearly $660,000. Also that year was a final table finish at the EPT Barcelona good for over $145,000.

When the 2007 WSOP rolled around, Lisandro once again had his eyes set on gold and the WSOP. This would be the year he won his first bracelet and cashes six times total. His bracelet win came in the $2,000 Seven-Card Stud event and earned him $118,426. He also placed second in an event for $294,620 at this WSOP.
