Kathy Liebert

Living in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Downey, California, Kathleen H. Liebert was born in Nashville, Tennessee on October 1st, 1967. She grew up on Long Island in New York and attended Marist College. With a Bachelors degree in finance and business, she was hired by Dun & Bradstreet. She made enough successful stock investments that she was able to quit the ‘9 to 5’ and travel the country.

Liebert’s skiing trip to Colorado found her playing poker. She played poker with family as a child but she jumped into poker with such intensity in Colorado, that she was offered a job as a prop at the club she played at.

The saying goes, “The rest is history,” but that isn’t the case with Liebert since she’s very active in tournaments and has a remarkable track record with them, there should be many more scores to come. She was the first woman to ever win a tournament with a first place of $1,000,000—the PartyPoker Million in 2002.

Liebert has 31 World Series of Poker (WSOP) cashes to her credit including a Gold Bracelet in the $1,500 Limit Holdem Shootout in 2004 and finishing 3rd in the 2008 $10,000 Pot Limit Holdem Event.. Liebert is a familiar face at final tables of the World Poker Tour (WPT) with five final table appearances including finishing 3rd in the 2005 Borgata Poker Open and 2nd at the 2009 Shooting Stars tournament.

Liebert has a tremendous tournament history with winnings in excess of $5,500,000 and has won more prize money than any other woman in poker history in open field tournaments. She’s ranked 38th overall.

Is the rest history? Liebert’s still making it.
