Not only is Victoria Coren a recognized poker player and a member of Team PokerStars Pro, she's also a journalist and writes weekly columns for The Observer and The Guardian. Coren also hosts the BBC Four television quiz show Only Connect.

Victoria Coren was born in 1973 in Hammersmith, England. Her biggest achievement at the poker tables to date is winning the European Poker Tour London Main Event in 2006. She became the first woman to ever win the EPT trophy. The title was especially pleasing for Coren as the tournament took place at the Victoria Casino where she matured as a player and spent most of her nights there gambling and playing poker.

Coren grew up in Cricklewood, England. Her mother was a doctor and her father, Alan Coren was a well-known humorist and journalist. Victoria's brother Giles Coren is a journalist as well. She graduated from the St John's College, Oxford, with the degree in English. She is known to have spent a lot of time playing poker in the Victoria Casino in London which was the venue of her first major poker title, the EPT Main Event.

World Series of Poker

Coren has a total of two World Series cashes to her name. She first made into the money at the world's biggest poker event in 2007 when she finished in 64th place at the $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em - Six Handed event for $6,159. Then five years later, in 2012 Coren made her second WSOP cash after finishing in 17th place at the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em event collecting $26,414

European Poker Tour

Coren made poker history in 2006 when she became the first woman to win the EPT Main Event. What's more is that she did it in the casino she spent most of her time playing poker. Her other major EPT achievements came at the Grand Finals for two consecutive years. At first she finished in 3rd place in the €500 Ladies Event at the 2011 Grand Final in Madrid and then came in 4th at the Champion of Champions event.

One year later, in 2012 Coren came back to the Grand Final, only this time it was in Monte Carlo to win the €5,000 Heads-Up event for €58,900 and then score the runner-up finish at the €1,000 Ladies Event for €12,950.
