It's Not All About the Cards

In the previous assignment, I laid out a complicated assignment that would help you learn to classify players. I went ahead and played a tournament using the assignment and am going to post the results here so that you all have something to use as a guide. Names have been removed to protect the innocent, and not so innocent. The points each player was assigned follows their action including cumulative points (second set of numbers) through that action.

The final tallies by seat with their high/medium/low breakdown:

Seat 1 – 30W, 5C, 0A High W, Medium C, Low A
Seat 3 – 20W, 23C, 55A Low W, High C, High A
Seat 4 – 36W, 40C,0A High W, High C, Low A
Seat 5 – 30W, 0C, 0A High W, Low C, Low A
Seat 6 – 27W, 0C, 10A High W, Low C, Medium A
Seat 7 – 15W, 0C, 50A Low W, Low C, High A
Seat 8 – 39W, 40C, 0A High W, High C, Low A
Seat 9 – 27W, 5C, 20A High W, Medium C, Medium A

A reminder of that the classifications:

High W, Low C, Low/Medium A - Rock
High W, Medium C, Low A - Weak
High W, High C, Low A - Calling Station
Low W, Low C, High A - Maniac, loose aggressive player
High W, Low C, High A - Tight Aggressive player

Seat 1 = Weak
Seat 3 = Combination between Calling Station and Maniac, loose aggressive player but because he seemed to be more active raising then calling I would lean towards the latter.
Seat 4 = Calling Station
Seat 5 = Rock
Seat 6 = Rock
Seat 7 = Maniac, loose aggressive player
Seat 8 = Calling Station
Seat 9 = This one is closest to Rock so I would lean towards that classification

These look pretty spot on although I am not sure I would classify Seat 7 as a maniac or LAG. They played three hands very aggressively in the middle of the orbit and took down each pot. I might actually use my discretion in this instance to classify the player as a tight aggressive player based on the fact that he folded pre-flop every other time.

In the next part, I'll show you how I used this information now that I had the players at my table classified.
