Pre-Flop Moves Conclusion

It's Not All About The Cards

There are several reasons I had the assignment use the moves/plays that I did. Either they were ones I had seen used a lot or ones that are frequently misapplied. Additionally, some of the moves are seldom used and as such can be an opportunity to garner some chips.

A couple of things to consider about the moves:

1) Just because a move fails you - meaning you lose chips time and time again with them does not mean there is no value in applying the move. Apply the move once or twice with nothing... and either show a loser or fold... and the time you apply the same move with the nuts... you'll accumulate more chips than if you had not applied the move and lost. In other words, you can use the move with nothing... to set up the move with something. A KEY factor in doing all of these.

2) Perhaps I gave you a move because I knew it would fail often. Why is that? Was it to do #1 above? Was it to show you how to defend against players that make this type of move against you?

3) One of the biggest things you were to try and take from these moves/plays is who it would work against and who it would not. If it did work - use it liberally. If it did not work... see #1.

4) And last, but certainly not least... using these moves was supposed to give you the opportunity to see the moves in play... so when someone uses it against you... you'll know how to respond.
